Eating hummus with a spoon

Still at work. . .should be entering in my hours, but the system crashed, so I'm blogging while I wait for creative to give me another look at a project. I was hungry way before 5, so now I'm uber hungry, can't leave, and resorted to looking through my lunch leftovers for something satiating. Found a little bit of hummus. With no pita nearby I just grabbed a spoon and went to town. Now I'm slightly less hungry. slightly.

Entering in my hours is probably my least favorite part of the ad biz. I basically have to account for everything I did in a day in 15 minute increments. Can you do that? It's not fun. (there's no code for blogging). I typically do them monthly, so I have to rely on my day planner and emails to piece it together. Well, last week I was on Neptune, because I ended up entering Thursday's time in Tuesday's page in my dayplanner, Wednesday in Thursday's, and Tuesday's in Wednesday. I didn't realize it until Tuesday's time was entered and saved in the system. . .and once I do that, I can't go back and edit it. blerg.

Why do I feel like I'm in a race with other people on the sidewalk? I'm like "Oh yeah, motherf-er. . .we'll see who gets to the other side first. . .we'll just see."

Have you ever noticed that people running to the bus look like toddlers?

GTAIV update - caught Darden. Stole a garbage truck and drove it on the cement railing of one of the highways for a good 2 minutes. awesome.

Trouble with the Internets

Been having some issues getting free wireless at home. grrr. Anyway, I've been meaning to post but have been held back as a result.

Anyway, I'm on the bus yesterday and it's pretty empty. . .just a few people standing (which during rush hour is a small miracle!). I'm on a bus that has the back section elevated. I'm sitting in the aisle seat right behind the back door. Some chick gets on with her two coworkers and wraps herself around the pole in such a way that her coach purse managed to continually hit my leg and foot. Anyway, armed with my Blackberry, I managed to get a photo of this offense. I decided to cross my leg to (oops!) kick her purse, which got her attention. The kicker is that they didn't have to crowd around the door - there was plenty of room! This picture was taken after she moved her bag slightly. Imagine it mostly on the right side of that yellow bar. boo. moron.

Exhibit A in the case of Coach purse vs. my shoe.

Also, I have 2 new obsessions. I've rediscovered Dragnet. It's amazing, yet kinda boring. I loved it at age 10 and it still captivates me. Half of it is them reading lists and yet. . .greatness! I also love seeing LA in the '60s. Secondly, Grand Theft Auto IV. You can steal garbage trucks! And you don't have to smell them.

Some of you have figured out the hidden thing I mentioned last blog. Great job!

Ok, gotta get back to work. . .just didn't want to neglect my 4 readers!

I'm Lou's Bitch

Tuesday, they're putting in our screens in my building. For those of you who haven't had the pleasure, I live in an apartment building, and the management comes by twice a year - once to take out our screens and once to put them back in. Now, I'm not the tidiest of people, so I hate both of these occasions. Imagine some stranger traipsing through your room. I always picture them saying things to each other like "Jesus! This girl is mes-sy!" "No kidding, she's worse than the guy in 3416!" Jerks. So, I've been frantically cleaning my room while watching Big Brother. Awesome. (Totally pissed Jessie is HOH. As much as he says he isn't stupid, I kinda think he is.)

On the bottom of the blog form, they have a thing where I can enter in labels for it. The example they give is "scooters, vacation, fall". One day, I will write a post about those three things, just so I can use those labels.

Also, there is a hidden gem that will change periodically on my blog (no, not the design. That will change, but it's not hidden). This one, you will need to look for. When you figure out what it is, feel free to post your guess!

Poll results:
What is your favorite reality show?
1 - Survivor
1 - A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila

This week's poll question: If you could have one restaurant located in your apartment building (or backyard), what would it be?

Also, my mom got Lily a new shirt. Check it out. I heart it.

I'm not Web savvy

So, despite having a Blogger blog in college (eons ago. . .), I apparently have forgotten how this thing works. I just picked a template by accident, so. . .hope it's pretty folks! If not, apparently I can change it. Fun!

Most of the weird things that happen to me on any given day occur on the CTA (I'm in Chicago). Mostly, because aside from work, that's where I interact with other people the most. I was riding home at about 7:30 on Friday on an unusually crowded bus, down an unusually congested Lake Shore Drive, when I see a woman grabbing the pole with a paper towel! Seriously? Lady, newsflash: if you're on the bus, some part of you will touch germs at some point. It's good for your immune system. Maybe she has a health condition where she needs to be especially careful about germs. Maybe. There was also the guy next to me who assumed that I knew all info about everything that was going on in Chicago that day. "Did the Cubs play today? Did they win? Why is the road slow? Is there an accident?" Um. . .I don't know. I'm sitting next to you. Do you see an accident? The highlight was this maybe 9 or 10 year old kid on the other side of me going "This bus is slow!" I responded "You're not kidding!" He was the cooler of the two people I was sitting next to.

Also, reality show kudos of the week go to Jerry from Big Brother. Way to try to get the annoying people out of the house first. Hopefully nobody will dick you over in the weeks to come (even though we all know they will).

Since this is the first one, I'll say that I love when people leave comments. So, I'll set up little polls to keep things interesting.

Poll - What is your favorite reality (competition) show? and. . .go!
